Fall Favorites: Apple Edition

Fall Favorites Apple Edition apinchadash.com

Suddenly, as if by magic-a blink of the eye, there’s a crisp chill in the air, the leaves are becoming less green, and the smell of pumpkin spice is in the air. This can only mean one thing: Fall is upon us.

Now, whilst I am completely heartbroken about the end of Summer (it’s never really long enough, is it?!), there’s something magical about Fall, something refreshing and inspiring. A lot of my inspiration from Fall, is food, of course.

Suddenly, I’m back into warm drinks, comforting soups, and of course, all things apple and pumpkin.

This year, I am going to try to go a different route, and I came up with some more creative and exciting ideas on Autumn inspired food. However, I can’t help but reflect back on some of my favorite past recipes, which is exactly what we are here to do, my friends.

So, lets start off with my favorite Apple recipes! (excuse the photos, some of these are oooolddd!)

(Click the photos to see the recipes!)

Starting off with my FAVORITE alcoholic beverage of all time in the fall. Warm Apple Pie. Apple cider and fireball whiskey marry to make a magical concoction that not only warms you up, but it warms the soul.

Apple butter is just a given in Autumn. After lots of apple picking, the best way to use up the not so perfect ones, is apple butter. Not only does it make the house smell amazing all day, but it is so good, can be used in so many different dishes, and makes great gifts. Top that!

This apple cheddar soup is one of my all time favorites. It has the smokey bacon flavor, creamy salty cheddar, and those crisp sweet apples. It is just the most comforting and flavorful soup. I’m even thinking about making it for dinner now…

Apple Crisp is another classic Fall time dessert. Crisp, sweet apples that are softened in brown sugar and butter, and topped with a crunchy, sweet oat topping. Ice cream on top, is a darn good idea.

These Apple Cider Donuts really don’t need explaining. They’re just…the best thing in the world. Especially warm!

When I say this is the ultimate…I mean it. This grilled cheese is the perfect balance of salty and sweet. Cinnamon raisin bread, crisp apples, salty bacon, and a blend of cheeses. Heavenly.

Alright, I’ve made myself hungry. So, I shall leave you all now with these. Get ready for the next edition of Fall Favorites. Can you guess what the theme will be?! 😉
